A Reason to Survive (ARTS) is dedicated to healing, inspiring and empowering children facing life challenges by providing innovative arts-based programs, education and job opportunities. Using the arts as a vehicle, trained and dedicated volunteers will provide a supportive atmosphere fostering healing and hope.
ARTS used funding from Satterberg Foundation to hire Planning Consultant Patricia Sinay, who assisted them in drafting a Strategic Plan to guide the next three years of ARTS' growth.
The planning process taught ARTS staff that their organization must:
-Focus its long term vision on supporting the priorities of the community they serve.
-Clearly and Powerfully articulate why their programs are essential and unique.
-Expand fundraising approaches to ensure their solvency through economic fluctuations.
The plan has been put into action. ARTS has restructured their fundraising department and hired a full-time Development Manager to oversee donor relations and corporate partnerships. They have developed a "pyramid" model healing, inspiring and empowering through the arts. The pyramid model serves children through a continuum of encounters and activities that range from single to multiple to consistent participation in ARTS programs. Each level of the pyramid involves more in-depth programming and experience.
