The mission of Seattle Housing and Resource Effort (SHARE) is to shelter themselves in a safe, communal, self-managed environment; and, with the larger community's support, to empower one another to secure a better future and work toward ending homelessness.
Satterberg Foundation provided funds to SHARE through a multi-year Open Grant for general operating support. They hired Bonnie Olson of Emerging Design Consulting to help strengthen and expand SHARE's operations. The SHARE website was revamped and the donor database was thoroughly updated.
SHARE reached out to several new potential host sites for Tent Cities and indoor shelters , and started a brand new self-managed indoor shelter in February, 2012. This new shelter, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Ballard, provides 15 beds of self-managed shelter.
